Prior to your arrival • Enquiries and reservations may be made by phone or email. • Please notify the hotel of your disability so that we can brief all our staff and ensure that you are well looked after as well as ensure that we offer you a suitable room, should this be available. • Should you require a taxi to the hotel from any London Airports or Train Stations, we use reliable companies on a regular basis and we would be delighted to book them on your behalf. They do have vehicles suitable for wheelchairs if required. • Directions to the hotel can be found on our website. On arrival at the hotel • Please note that we do not have on site parking facilities at Threadneedles as we are located right in the City. There is a small bay opposite the hotel whereby guests can stop a vehicle and disembark. However this is only for a few minutes and should you require longer, the hotel would need to be notified a few days in advance so that we can call up the City of London requesting special permission for your request. • We have a disabled entrance door to the hotel, which is located to the side of the main entrance door. There is also a doorbell should you wish Front desk to assist you when entering the door. During the week, we have a doorman present from 07:30 am till 7pm. • We are more than happy to help you with your luggage and will collect it from your car and deliver it to your room. • A member of staff will also always be on hand to assist you up to your room or back down to Reception at any time. • A staff member will point out evacuation routes and call points for disabled guests on arrival at the hotel. Reception Area • Floor is marble and suitable for wheelchairs. • Low level desks are available to complete your registration.• Reception is all on one level. • 2 Lifts are available to 1st, 2nd and 3rd Floors for wheelchair users. • Access to the 4th and 5th Floors is possible if the lift is taken to the 3rd floor and then across to another elevator which goes to the 4th and 5th floor. • The elevator to the 4th and 5th floor is available from the ground floor, but there is a step in the lobby, where the wheel chair would need to be lifted by hand to get passed it. Public areas • Our corridors are well lit and carpeted. • Access to the lobby lounge, Bar and Bonds Restaurant are all accessible by wheelchairs. • There is a step up to the Toilets on the ground floor in the lobby. To access the wheelchair will be hand lifted. • There is a lift available near the Hotel reception desk, which can take wheelchair users down to Bonds Restaurant toilets, located in the basement of the hotel. • There is a small step on the way to two of our conference rooms and a wheelchair would require manual lifting to pass this step. Our staff are always on hand to assist. • We have a designated disabled toilet in the basement of the hotel. Fire Alarm • The fire alarm system is a siren and does not have flashing lights. Assistance is given if evacuation is necessary. Guest should always notify the hotel when booking and staying over so that our staff can be sure to assist in an evacuation. Accommodation • Most bedrooms are accessible from the lift, but some have stairs leading down to them. • We have two disabled rooms available in Threadneedles with grab handles by the toilet. However, these two rooms have a shower over the bath tub and so guests staying in these rooms may need the assistance of a carer. • Other rooms with no grab handles are available with Japanese showers and some disabled guests prefer to use these rooms as the bathrooms are spacious and easily accessible with wheelchairs. • On each of the floors in the fire escape, there is a call point for assistance for disabled guests. Additional information • Small mini bar fridges are available in all bedrooms and if guests would prefer to have the mini bar emptied to accommodate medication, we can arrange this for you. We have tried to be as accurate as possible and have included as much detail as we can in our Access Statement, and openly welcome any suggestions you may have to continuously improve the information we provide.
